Course schedule and requirements:
The learning is self-paced, content unlocks weekly.
The course includes two live sessions half-way and at the end of the course. Participation in all live sessions is mandatory towards obtaining the course certificate.

Learning objectives
  • Consider the context for children, to help you be more child-focused, raise your awareness of the environment in which children might be living and the implications of this for child safeguarding.
  • Understand key child safeguarding concepts and definitions. Learn about the different types of child abuse and how they can occur in organisations. 
  • Explore laws and standards to prevent child abuse in organisations including the International Child Safeguarding Standards.
  • Understand how to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns and abuse.

Using the KCS International Child Safeguarding Standards as a foundation, this course will help you develop a foundational understanding of child safeguarding. 

During this course, you will participate in an mix of self-paced learning, with video and exercises, and live collaborative virtual classrooms with a facilitator actively working in the field. It includes a final end-of-course quiz.
